Have you tried a Poke bowl yet?

Poke is traditionally a native Hawaiian dish of seasoned sliced raw fish, served on top of rice with various dressings and toppings. These days Poke Bowls are popping up on menus everywhere, and it's easy to see why. There is something special about the combinations of umami sauces and pops of flavour, but it does take a few tweaks to turn Poke into a balanced and nutritious meal.

When you allow yourself to stray from the traditional ingredients, as long as you stick to wholefoods and sugar-free sauces, you have endless opportunities to create delicious, nourishing and convenient meals, for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

Here are our favourite ideas, but remember there are no rules, you can create your own bowl to suit your tastes and individual nutritional needs.

Fresh and lightly seared Tuna, Spinach, Cauliflower Rice, Fennel soaked in ACV, Cucumber, Avocado, Mint, Coriander, Sesame Oil and Dukkah

Raw, sustainably sourced, fresh Fish.

Free Range Chicken Breast, grilled.

Free Range Eggs, boiled.

Avocado, Broccoli , Cucumber

Fennel, Capsicum, Baby Spinach

Rocket, Fresh Herbs

Chickpeas, Black Beans

Millet, Buckwheat , Quinoa

Cauliflower Rice

Fermented Vegetables

Kim-chi, Sauerkraut

Sesame Oil

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Apple Cider Vinegar

Seeds, Nuts or Dukkah

With a bit of meal prep, you can have all of these ingredients on hand at the start of the week, and keep your lunches easy to prepare and healthy, but also delicious and different every day of the week!
